Give cancer the cold shoulder
Cancer Research UK is delighted to be the Official Charity of the London Winter Run.
In 2015, the London Winter Run was the first new event in Central London of its kind – a whole experience geared around winter! The unique annual running event for 15,000 people offers a Central London route around London’s most iconic landmarks, and the late January/early February date means it’s a great way to start the year with a health kick or for those preparing for ½ marathons and marathons in the spring.
In the 1970s, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived. But over the last 40 years, survival has doubled – today half will survive. Cancer Research UK aims to accelerate progress so that three-in-four people survive the disease within the next 20 years – but this will only be possible if enough people support fundraising events like Winter Run.
Together with Human Race, Cancer Research UK hopes that the capital’s coolest new running concept will encourage folk to stay active this winter and embrace a New Year challenge.
